A hack and slash game with a mature theme
Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae is a hack and slash game where the player takes on the role of a warrior maiden who is forced to hunt down her best friend. The game sports an art style heavily influenced by anime and manga and is quite fast-paced. It also features mature themes.
The hack and slash gameplay can be found in many games, such as Darksiders or Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, though the story and art style of Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae help it to stand out a little from similar games.
Hunt down your best friend
The player takes on the role of Misa, a Blade Templar and secret defender of humanity, who is also a high school student. When she learns that her best friend, Suzuka, has succumbed to the Demon Blade and become evil, she sets out to hunt her friend down. Misa hopes to save her friend by destroying the Demon Blade but knows she may have to kill Suzuka.
Hack and slash combat
The gameplay of Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae is relatively simple, with the player just being required to slash their way through various enemies. Skill points can be acquired to purchase upgrades that will increase the player’s power and abilities, which will be needed to take on the bosses that they will periodically face.
A visually interesting game with a solid narrative
Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae benefits from an interesting story and some appealing anime visuals. It is not without issues, however. One of the main complaints is that the game can start to feel quite repetitive due to it not having much content to play through.
